ok all of a sudden this started happening... I'm trying to add some text and the text box opens but when I type nothing appears also when I try to click on boxes to add stitches to make a pattern????? I have restarted my computer and it's still the same.

What font have you selected to use for the text?

And I don't understand the next part. What happens when you click to add stitches?

I get a empty graph paper and try to click on a box to make it black/filled in and it does nothing

You need to have the selector set for stitch creation.
