For anybody who has upgraded to the new versions that also upgraded MS .NET - you might want to run a Windows Registry check program (such as Symantec's Norton Win Doctor).
I upgraded last week and it seemed to upgrade without a problem. However, when I did my standard (weekly) Win Doctor run I had 13 errors that I had not seen before. I'm used to shortcut errors or Active-X errors but this time there were 4 font errors and 9 shared .DLL errors.
All the errors were related to the new upgrade of PCStitch Pro.
I tried to fix the 4 font errors but two failed. They were duplicates of other fonts so I ended up just deleting the registry entries (through Win Doctor). It seems to work fine.
I did successfully let Win Doctor correct the 9 Shared .DLL errors itself.
These errors do not seem to cause any problems but they do clutter your registry with potential problems. That thing is big enough without having extra stuff that is not needed and wrong.
I know there are other Registry Checker/Fixer programs out there. I am only familiar with Win Doctor.
Norton products are becoming a pain (especially Anti-Virus) because they don't want to let go of your system but I have not heard of any such problems with Norton Utilities. It's a shame that Norton has such a bad reputation now. I have used various Norton Utilities since the 80s and some I still use regularly. I just don't use their security programs now.
Norton Anti Virus is a pain. AVG anti virus is a far better replacement. It detected all the viruses on my system that Norton overlooked and it's FREE.

I switched to AVG when Symantec abandoned ME after the 2005 versions. I also switched my personal firewall to ZoneAlarm (also free) but I'm a version behind on that because they have abandoned ME also!
AVG's newest version (7.5) still supports ME.
I'll still use the Norton Utilities (I like Speed Disk, WinDoctor, CleanSweep and Protected Recycle Bin) but I'll leave the others alone. Some of the other utilites (such as File Compare) are not used as often but still used.
I also use SpyBot 1.4. The previous version got to big for it's britches - Literally! I started getting an error that the tables were too big. I found the update and that solved the problem.

Well, I am using Kerio's Personal Firewall and I am about two or three versions behind. I use 2.1.5. where the latest version is 4.? ... but 2.1.5. gives user much better administration tools and works extremely well (even on XP) so why change? (Sounds extremely dangerous, doesn't it?)

The ONLY way that Norton would let me at yesterday's data was to look at the history and do a series of screen prints. I did get the problem and fix for all 13 errors, though (I think). I'll be sending them off.
