Hello!
I'm using PC Stitch 7.0. I'm a lover of samplers and old writings. That's why I've got lots of them. They are fonts by Windows. How does it happen that some of them appear in PC Stitch like Microsoft Sans Serif??? I would like to create an alphabet in the writing called AD Alt Sachsen. In the 7.0 version it appears as a modern writing. In Word it appears normal and also in PC Stitch Pro. Any idea, what's going on there?? And there is another problem. I've created a chart with DMC colors and would like to convert it into Mill Hill Pearls. When I'm printing out the floss list, there isn't any number from Mill Hill. Additionally I discovered, that the numbers of the Madeira floss list don't match. And there are no color descriptions, too. Only a repetition of the wrong numbers.

Sabine,
I looked at the problem you described with the text font, and I found a bug in the software when using some character sets. I have fixed this, and we will try to get a maintenance update out for PCStitch Standard next week.
I'm not sure what to do about the Mill Hill conversion. Many of the floss functions were specifically coded to not be interchangable with beads. In fact, I believe that the bug here is that the Map To list box should not even have the bead floss families listed. Is converting from floss to beads something that is a common thing to do?
On the Madiera problem, There are no default mappings in the software for DMC to Madeira. You will need to use the Floss Editor to define them if you want Madeira numbers for patterns that were created with DMC floss.
If someone has a mapping list from DMC to Madeira, I would try to get it into a future maintenance update.

Hello Marc!
Thanks for answering my questions. Because of the Mill Hill conversion, I don't know if that would be a common thing. Personally I don't work with beads. But one of my customers asked me to do that for her. So I tried several bead's lists and typed them in only to discover that there are no numbers at all in the outprint of the floss list. Then I tried to do the design again with beads alone but I couldn't reduce the colors. So I quit. As to the Madeira floss list, you will find a conversion list here:
http://www.findstitch.com/resources/conversion.cgi/from,dmc/to,madeira
This list isn't very exactly but it's better than nothing. For example black has got the number 2400 in Madeira and for all numbers with hundred sth. you have to put a 0 at first place. Could be possible, that I've got anywhere in my stash a list for DMC/Anchor/Madeira. If I find it, I'll send it to you.

Sabine,
We just posted a maintenance update that should fix the text issues you are having with the fonts. Just go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates.
Let me know if it fixes the problem.

Hello Marc!
Unefortunately, I can't get the update because although I'm on internet connection the DFÜ (broadband connection) can't connect. So, I'm in a loss here.

Hello Sabine,
The update is a single-file program. That is fancy geek-talk that simply means the update as well as the program to install it are all stuffed into a single file that you can download to your computer. When you run this file, the update stuff is extracted from the program and your PCStitch will be updated..
If you have trouble doing the automatic update from within the software, you can visit our website and download this single file to your computer. All you need to is run it on the computer that has PCStitch Standard installed, and it will be updated to the new version..
Come to the website (www.pcstitch.com) and click on the Customer Service link in the left-hand menu. You will notice a section of that page that discusses the free maintenance update for Standard. There is a link there to download the file. Click that link to download it (I would save the file on your desktop). Once you have downloaded it, run it to do the update. When the update is done, drag the update file to your trash can to get rid of it…
If your PCStitch computer does not have access to the Internet, you could download that file to another computer, burn it to a CD-ROM, and then bring it home.
Hope this helps you get going…
Sincerely, Troy Riegle

Hello Troy, hello Marc!
I've followed your instructions and it works perfectly. Now I can use a lot of more old writings for creating samplers.
