Each version of PCStitch can open that version's files and all previous versions. Since Version 8 (Pro) is the latest version, there should be NO valid PCStitch file that it cannot open. There may be some that it is not authorized to open, such as those "purchased" by someone else but none that it does not have the ability to open.
In the case of the purchase situation, those files can be opened only by the person who purchased them. It's a copyright protection feature.
