Hello, I'm from Germany and apologize for my imperfect English. :) I've been using PC Stitch for a while and everything works fine - except for one: When I convert patterns to anchor using the DMC palette, the anchor colors sometimes appear very, very wrong. Sometimes too dark, too light (I know that the colors on the monitor cannot be totally real), which makes it almost impossible to choose certain colors. I know the Floss Editor, but I cannot adjust every single anchor color because I am too unsure about it myself.
Is this a known problem for you? I have the impression that this does not seem to be a problem with the DMC range.

Hello and thank you for the quick reply!
I know the conversion charts and I work with them, when I am unsure about the right colors, when I converted the pattern into Anchor.
The colors that PCStitch pick, are correct according to that charts. When I physically take the floss out of the drawer and compare it, it is a major difference to the color displayed in the software; that is my main problem.
If I continue to work with Anchor, PC Stitch is nothing for me :(
And DMC is so rarely available in Germany.. is anchor so rarely used in the rest of the world or is this maybe a software bug just at my computer :D? |

I don't know what specifications were used to create the Anchor definitions. It could be that those definitions used by PCStitch were wrong.
I know that DMC is the primary line used in the US and I don't know anywhere locally where I could buy Anchor (if I was even allowed to shop for it under the current circumstances).
I don't know of a solution other than to manually create a "corrected Anchor" floss list but to do that, you would really need the specifications.
You might try contacting Anchor with the issue and ask them to work with PCStitch to correct the problem.
Diane There is no such thing as a stupid question

Thank you very much, again :)
I think I will probably buy more DMC skeins in the future to avoid such problems... I just didn't know that the Anchor ones are rare.
Thank you! |
