I'm hoping someone more experienced than me with PC Stitch will be able to help. I am trying to enter a pattern which uses horizontal and vertical half stitches, i.e., a cross stitch of one square wide by half a stitch high and vice versa. This is commonly used in cross stitch patterns, but I can't seem to find a way to do it. I know I can draw it as two petite stitches, but that's not the effect I wish to create and I want to share/sell my pattern. Also, I'm having trouble with stitches across a square, i.e., a whole cross stitch occupying half of one square and half of another. Again, this is a reasonably common technique so I don't understand why it's not a readily available option.

One last question - is it possible to move sections by half a square? This would be very useful when trying to align backstitch lettering.

Thanks for your help!

PCStitch does not have the ability to make stitches like that. The petites are the closest. I only know of one product that ever had that ability but it does not appear to have been updated for more than 10 years now so I don't know if you can even still get it.

Patternmaker by Hobbyware had that feature but when I looked, it said the latest version was that I saw 10 years + ago so it may not work on newer operating systems.

I know this is from 2019, but I've been searching for an answer and this was the closest I found.

I too, am wondering if it is possible to move back stitching over by half. Trying to align text is difficult when the back stitching is snapped to the edge of the full stitch, or middle of the full stitch.

Certain letters need to be moved over by half and wondering if this is possible?

At this time, that sort of "shifting" is not in the design. Only full blocks are used.
