Clip Art?
PCStitch is for creating cross-stitch patterns, not just graphics. You would use something like Paint for that.

Those are just simple patterns where each "box" indicates one cross-stitch.
The tutorial for pattern creation covers that -- just select your color, select the cursor option for stitch creation and pop in the stitches where you want. That is not clip-art, that is a pattern!

All you need to do is to create a library as follows (and this is from the Help feature):
Under "Enhancements", select a new library and give it a name and description. A .plb file will be created with all the other libraries using your new name. It will be placed in "C:\ProgramData\PCStitch11\Libraries". Note that ProgramData, by default, is hidden, you will have to "un-hide" it to be able to see it.
Then for each part of a pattern you wish to keep, you just set a box around it and select to "Save to Library" and use your personal library.
This is mostly from the helps, not the tutorial, but the helps. Take a look through them or search for what you need. I searched on "Library" and found the answer.

Select the cursor that is the arrow (first one). Then click at the place where you want to start your area and drag it to the end. Then release. you'll see a black box around the area. If you git it wrong, just start over. That is the "selected area". That type of operation is used in many of the features of the software so it probably will become second nature eventually.
