Hello,
This is my first post on the forums, been a lurker for a while.
I am trying to change my hotkeys in PCStitch 11 and i cannot figure it out. i have tried and tried. I changed them in PCStitch 10 so it could be done before, so i hope i just cannot find it.

Is there a way to change the shortcut keys in 11?
Thanks for your help

*edit--- Just to clarify a bit, in 10 you can change your hotkeys by right clicking on the top toolbar and going to customize. In 11 there isn't a way to do this that i have found, and it would be amazing

Actually, Aaron, there is a very simple way to edit the shortcut keys. It's the same method I used with PCStitch 10 (and before). "Same" as in part of the Options.

Just click on "Home" and then "Options" under the Properties part of the ribbon. It's in the second group of "Design Screen".

I keep a list of my preferred keys to adjust it every time I upgrade (I've used PCStitch since version 7 in 2004).

Good Luck,

Diane

Hey Diane, thanks for your reply!

So i found that list before but that is not exactly what i was talking about. In 10, if you right click on the top bar you can go to customize and actually set a hotkey to what you wanted it to be. For example, I use Photoshop alot, so i set the z key to be my zoom and x to be zoom out.
In the short cut clicks menu in 11, which was in 10 as well, it seems you are limited to these specific keys.

Do you know of a way to customize your own keys in 11? I assume if it was in 10 it would be in 11 as well but i haven't been able to find it.

Again, thanks for the response

Aaron

Aaron,

I'm not sure that's anything to do with PCstitch - more like your operating system or system configuration. I had a computer years ago that allowed you to re-define any key on the keyboard with something called "anykey". It was independent of the software in use - just did that "operation" with whatever software you had.

What you're describing sounds similar and I can't help you on that.

Diane

Holy Crap!!! A year later and i figured it out! If you go to the options menu under properties you get the options screen.
There is a check box that asks if you want to use the old menu bar, if you click that and restart you get the old menu bar and can right click and go to customize and change any hotkey you want!
Hallelujah! That has been bugging me for so long.

Hopefully this will help anyone who wants to set their own hotkeys. I'm so excited right now!
