HI
I am trying to export the Key (Legend) of a chart I have drawn. I can export the chart as image, no problem, but there doesn't seem to be a way to export JUST the Key, the only option appears to be to print it, which I don't want to do.

Am I missing something?

I am using the jpegs on my tablet to stitch from, rather than printed charts so really would like the Key as well as the chart.
Is this possible? (I have printed the Key as PDF but my tablet doesn't always open PDFs so I'd just like to have it as a jpeg.)
Thanks for your help.

You are not missing anything. There is no way to just export the key.

What you can do is to a print preview and when you are displaying the key (last page or so -- depending on the complexity of the pattern), take a screen print or use the "Snipping Tool" and save the image as a JPG.

Thank you for that, Diane.
I'm confused about a 'snipping tool' ?? It's not something I've come across before and it's not listed in the HELP Index. Can you please explain?
Thank you.

Hi again Diane - belay that last question - I did a search and found the snipping tool (I'm using Windows 8.1) and it works really well, so thank you very much for that. It even allows for saving as different types of image.

Many thanks!

Daisy,

I found the snipping tool under accessories with Windows 7. It's great when you want to save a PART of the screen but not the whole thing. I use it a lot when I make 3rd party purchases from Amazon.com. You can save the full description from the seller about the condition of the item (usually book or DVD).

You can even edit the image such as adding text or circle something extra important.

It's only drawback is it opens the taskbar (usually hidden) so you can't get the very very bottom of the window if it's full height.
