New user here - imported photograph to stitch using nearly 200 floss colors. The 'floss usage' function lists all the threads in alphabetic order. It would be more helpful to me if it were in numeric order by DMC thread #.

I saw something that said I could export it to a .csv file, but I could not find how to do that.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

Both questions can be answered by the palette area. If you right click on the palette panel, you can get the menu. The Palette Tools includes the floss usage estimate. It lists the flosses in the same order as you see them in the panel. There are multiple ways you can sort the floss list. You can even define your own if you don't like the "pre-defined" sorts. Whatever you choose will be the order you will see the colors in the floss estimate.

At the bottom of the floss estimate window (lower right corner) is a button to export it as a .csv. Note - the symbols will NOT carry to the csv file. The conversion can't handle the multiple fonts required.

Good Luck,

Diane

Thank you so much - how nice to get an answer to my question so quickly - very much appreciated.

Now, one more question - is there a way to print the floss usage list in color? In the past, I've used these lists to organize my needles - I glue the list to piece for foam core, load my needles, and there is my inventory ready for use. In some projects, the same symbol has used twice but with a different background color - not yet sure if that will be an issue with PC stitch or not. But it would be good to know how.

Thanks,
Bob

Although it's possible with PCStitch (at least with Pro 9), it's not recommended to use the same symbol for multiple colors.

The Floss Usage chart is not in color. However, when you print the pattern, you can have the symbol page show a small box of the color with the page. It's not in a single column but it does have the color box. I usually turn off that print option myself because color cartridges are so expensive!
