I dont find any way to set a proxy server, and it doesnt seem to honor my IE settings, or firefox (although I can forgive it for firefox)
Which means I cant register and save my current work.. thats really annoying. |

I don't understand.
I've never seen anything about proxies on updates. Updating doesn't involve any browser, it's a direct internet connection.
You say you can't save your work but saving your work has nothing to do with the internet or any browsers. It's just selecting the folder and file name.
Registering doesn't involve the internet either. It's just entering a code to the computer. I believe there is an option to print and mail the actual registration form if you don't have access another way.
Could you explain your problem in a bit more detail?

Thats exactly my point. Not all computers are permitted direct web connections, they rely on proxy servers - pcstitch fails to honor the current proxy settings, and it doesnt seem to give you an option to enter one.
I cant save as a result of not being able to register because the PC has to use a proxy server to access websites. |

I'm still not sure I understand. Entering the key is not the same as registering. That can be done via snail-mail by printing off the registration form and mailing it in. You should get the unlock code via email and manually enter it. That does not use the internet. Then you can save your files.

| Yes Terry. Sadly I wanted to work on some patterns during lunch. I work in a virtual machine so Im not violating any policy rules, but I still have to use the proxy servers. Its just unfortunate that thats a great time of day to work on things. |

| I applaud you for working somewhere that will allow you to do this at your job. But as Diane said, if you want to register the program you can do it by snail mail. You don't need to register the program to use the unlock code to be able to save your designs. Not being able to "set a proxy server" is not a problem with the program, that's something your IT people will have to deal with. |

I *AM* part of the IT, department, there are no settings in PC stitch which allow you to tell it to use a proxy - the app makes a direct connection to port 80, irrelevant of settings in all settable places.
However, the unlock code tried to verify against the webserver, and as it couldnt contact, it failed - while I can use snail mail, sending a mail to the US would take considerable time for something that is generally a recognised requirement for anything that makes connections..
