I want to buy a scanner or 3in1 or 4in1 so that I can scan images into PCSTitch PRO. What dpi is minimum required to do 40ct petit point projects up to a size of 20"x20"?
What is the minimum, what is the maximum?
I have read all of the posts about importing images and want confirmation of my calculations about minimum scan resolution required.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to clarify or share their experience, make suggestions on brand, make and model...

Any import will be for standard stitches. You can stitch them as 40 count over-one or 6 count. The only difference is in the size of the final product.
The idea is still the same, try to make your original image the same pixel size as the stitch dimensions. Take into account your size. If you want something 2in X 3in (40 count over 2), then you want something that is 40 X 60 stitches. Make your image as close to that as possible.
Remember that the import will have NO backstitches, fractionals, or any special stitches. It will be ONLY full cross-stitches. Any of the others are part of the manual "tweaking" phase.

I am looking for scanner info and the minimum dpi/ resolution people have purchased in order to import images for larger or more complex designs, as in my example.
Given my example would require 1200 x 1200 dpi, by my calculations, is it true that this is the Minimum resolution I would need to buy in a scanner?
