Currently when using the paint bucket it only fills with full stitches. I would be nice if it could also fill in with other stitches as well, like half stitches.
All you can do is to post in the thread for requested features.
I don't even use the paint bucket. I have a shortcut for that. I'm not sure what the default is but I use shift-right to "fill" as the paint bucket does.
