Haven't figured out a way to do this, but I need to make some of my backstitch lines HEAVIER than normal, preferably in the program. Any ideas are appreciated.

I don't think you can make SOME of the backstitch lines heavier but you can make ALL of them heavier. You can also select backstitch style for each color of backstitching among about 6 different style, including dotted, railroad tracks, solid ... There are 6 or 7 different styles I think.
To increase the thickness of backstitch lines during design, go to the overall Options, select Stitch Drawing Options, and then increase the backstitch line width (default is 17).
Be careful about making it too wide or it will make it more difficult to see the symbols of the pattern.
I don't think this affects the printing of the pattern. That is a different set of options.

Thanks, I tried your idea, can't say it helped much - but I accidently figured out a solution to my problem. I'm trying to make a 'block' where a name is inserted. If you can't see the lines you can't tell exactly where to put the name. I've just outlined the block with a dark gray (that's not used in the design) cross stitch. Hopefully, with an explanation that will work.
