I have noticed that patterns created from a phot always seem to have a GREEN tint. I have tried to adjust the green hue but it's hard to see the finished effect because the colors don't show on the screen true. My created pattern never turns out like I prefer.

If you have a green tint to your photos, then it's the photo, not the software. The software uses the colors it sees. I've never heard of that happening at all, much less all the time.

Try looking at your photos using other software, such as Irfanview (free), to see if that also has the green tint.

As for the colors used - you ALWAYS have the option of changing colors from what is originally presented. In fact, you should never accept the initial conversion as the final version. It's not intended to be the final version, just the first step. You're expected to "tweak" it to be the pattern you wish.

It's also common (especially if you allow a larger number of colors in the finished pattern) to run out of colors of a given family. There are only so many colors in any family available. I once did a pattern based on a black/white photo and had some of the grays come out in purple and others in yellow. I tweaked the colors to get what I wanted (and changed the background "fabric" to be royal blue).
