I'm having trouble adding a note to my chart. I click the Note icon onto my chart. Then I type in my note. I right click onto the Note icon and nothing happens. Please give me some advice. |

When you right-click on a note icon, you should get a little pop-up of 4 options. The first is "Display Note". Just click and the palette you used to create the note pops up (to the right by default).

After I type the note, I don't get any popups when I click on the note icon. I don't know what's wrong. |

Try changing your "Selection tool" to the arrow. When you hover over the icon in that mode, the cursor changes to a hand and you see a box around the note icon with arrows in all directions in the middle. Then right-click and see if you get the menu.

I changed the selection tool to the arrow and was able to get the Popups. But when I clicked on Display Note, nothing happened. Is there something else I should be doing in the Note box after I type in the Note? |

What I did for a test (in both PCStitch 10 and PCStitch 11) was just close the palette (clicked the "x" in the upper right corner of the slide-in area) and the do as I described to access the note again. I changed the selection tool, hovered when I saw the right stuff and right-clicked. The default option shown was "Delete Note". I clicked on the first option and it brought back up the note palette to the right.
I have no idea how else to do it.
If you are truly using PCStitch 10, remember that version is now obsolete and has been replaced with PCStitch 11. Although I got the exact same behavior in both versions (yes they can be run side-by-side), you may have a different hardware/software configuration. You might want to consider upgrading. If you use contact, you MIGHT be able to get a discount on an upgrade, especially considering you're having issues with 10.

What is the X in the slide in area? Am I supposed to see the note when I hover over the note icon? Thanks for your help. |

Is the Note supposed to appear directly on the chart? Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the Note actually works. |

You don't actually see the note ON the pattern. It would likely overlap parts of the pattern and make it difficult to see. The note will show in the same window you used to create the note to the side when you try to display it.
When printing, it prints separately from the pattern.

I'm not having any luck. I tried printing the chart with the note, but just the chart printed out with no note. |

OK, I have both 10 and 11 available and I just tested with a sample pattern with a simple note. I used the "Average Dog" pattern and stuck a note on the dog's nose with a message "Just want to see if it prints".
I then went to print and used the print preview. The note showed on his nose. As expected, the stitches behind the note icon are not viewable. The last page of the pattern with the legend and instructions also included the note with the text. You need to make sure that "Notes" is checked under the Information Sheet tab of the Print dialog.

Your first link is not possible with PCStitch. The way to do that is to have a small pattern (it has to be small) and then you would have to export to a jpg and put the legend and such in either a PDF or jpg and then use external software to merge the two into a single file. PCStitch won't do it.
Your second link is what could be termed a watermark. Again, that would be a jpg and you would edit it to add the text. That's not a note.
