My notes say I can import JPEG files to create a cross stitch design, however, it's not working. When I think I'm importing a JPEG file, PCStitch just shows a solid red pattern. No matter what the file I'm importing is. Can someone explain this to me? TIA

You must use the import feature. I've always used the import from a disk file on the drive and never any of the other options. To be sure the pattern is valid, you should first open the .jpg file outside of PCStitch to be sure it is valid.

Also, if the actual image is large compared to the stitch dimensions, you probably see a greatly zoomed image and that might be the wrong color.

First make sure your image is tiny -- to the same dimensions in pixels as the stitch count. For example, if you want to make an 8 X 10 design using 14 ct Aida, then the image you are using for the bases should be about 112 X 140 pixels (or as close as you can to keep the aspect ratio). That might help as well. It always works best if the pixel to stitch ratio is as close to 1/1 as possible.

Hi Diane, do the other options not work as well as importing from disk file?

I don't know what other options you mean. For import, I've only ever used the disk file option.

Please explain what other options are giving you problems.
