Hi,

I purchased PC Stitch 11 over the weekend. I am very familiar with older versions, so I figured this would be a breeze. The pattern is fine, but no gridlines print, or floss numbers, only the color blocks. Print preview SHOWS the gridlines and floss numbers, but they do not print. HELP!!!

Thanks,
Nancy

Check your print options. You have the ability to turn them on and off in the print. Do they show with the pattern? You also have the ability to show how the stitches are done, color blocks, symbols, ...

Hi!

Yes, as I said, print preview SHOWS the gridlines and floss numbers, but they do not print. I will try to print it with the symbols only, no color blocks. If that doesn't work, is there a way to save the file to a thumb drive or a separate file and I can try printing it at work?

I might have a little time to fiddle with it tonight. If it still doesn't work I will take screen shots to show you what it's doing . . . .

Thanks!

What you can do is print to a PDF virtual printer. I use the one that's part of Foxit (Adobe clone) and Adobe has one as well. It's listed as a printer so you "print" to it and it creates a PDF file. Try that. Does it show the grid lines and the symbols.

The PDF you can print direct and it should print what it sees.

I find it hard to believe that a preview (not just a display of the pattern but a true Print Preview) shows the grid and symbol and the print does not.

Remember that the display options and the print options are separate.

Well you may find it 'hard to believe' but it is happening to me as well. I've recently reinstalled PCStitch 11 from the website and as I completed a design and went to print - printing to foxit pdf reader as well as to my printer and though I've got 'print grid lines' checked the patterns both in color block or symbols have NO grid lines at all.

Was this ever resolved? I need to print these asap for publisher and sitting here wondering just how to get them to print!

Somebody on another thread made a comment about this recently. It took 2 uninstall/reinstalls and it worked fine.

Well that somebody was ME :)

Yes two uninstalls and one install gave me grid lines back so I could at least design the pattern.

However, I'm talking now about printing the lines and getting nothing. Is uninstalling and reinstalling really the only advice for this?

The thought crossed my mind of zoom factor. I pulled up one of the built-in patterns (Average Dog)and the Print Preview didn't show the lines well at first. I did a zoom and I could clearly see them.

What stitch/inch setting are you using for printing? It may be too fine and the resolution of the printer doesn't show the distinction clearly.
