I keep having to customize my toolbars every time I open PCStitch 11.

I only had to do it once with version 10.

How do I save my customized toolbars??
Thanks!
Sheri

Before I can test to try your situation, I need to know the answer to one question -- are you running the ribbon or the older menus?

One other question -- what OS are you using?

I'm using the old menu not the new ribbon and running Windows 7.

You are correct. The settings are not saved with the old style menus. With the new ribbon it's not really an issue since you can minimize the ribbon and only see it if you need that type of command.

You can send to the contact point with that as a complaint and maybe it will get fixed. I suspect the message that you revert to the default when you switch menu options is still in effect even if you don't change! What doesn't revert are the panels to the sides that you may have turned off.

Good Luck,

Diane

What is a "contact point"? Where do I find it?
Thanks!

At the top of the page, click on "Home". Then, if you hover on "Customer Care", there is a "Contact Us" link. That should give you what you need.

Check the program options. At the bottom of the first tab there should be an option for the new menus.

For that, I have no idea. You're correct, though. Clicking to customize doesn't seem to do anything. You'll have to use the contact point to ask Mark about that one.

It may not be that quick. Also, be sure your email address is correct so he can reply.

I have been dealing with trying to customize my hotkeys for so long and finally figured it out. It seems the only way you can do that is by switching to the old menu and customizing the same way you did in 10.

The only problem i have found now though is the same problem that is stated above. It doesn't save the hotkeys once you close the program. That's kind of a bummer.

Aaron, I don't understand. I have new menus on PCStitch 11 and I also have PCStitch 10. I have customized shortcut keys on both and they're the same! I customized them ages ago and keep notes on what I use. They're still there and they don't revert.

Diane, are you doing something different than the short cut clicks menu? Because i can't find any other way to do it in version 11 than that.
For instance, can you change zoom in to be the z key in that menu? And zoom out to be x? These are my biggest pains right now.

In version 10, if you right click on the tool bar and go to customize, you can change anything you want in that hotkey menu. The only way i found to do that in version 11 is to revert to the old menus.

If there is another way to do this, i would be so excited. Can you give me an example of some of the hot keys you have made for yourself? Maybe that will help.

Thanks for always being so quick to respond to everyone on these forums, Your'e amazing!

Aaron,

The only thing I have done is with those shortcut menus and only those keys. I just rearranged them for my preferences.

I've never played much with zoom. What little I need, I used the menus. I think it remembers your last saved zoom setting the next time and that was 90% of what I needed.

I don't know how to help you in general. There is no "anykey" software anymore that I know of. Anykey was built into my 1st Gateway computer back in the 90s (then called Gateway 2000 but still with the cow boxes).
