I found an odd problem a few minutes ago. I was able to duplicate it in a very small pattern.

If you export a pattern from Pro to Standard, and that pattern has half-cross-stitches in it, the printing of the Standard form does not match the pattern display!

I created a pattern that needed single strand half cross stitches. When I exported it to Standard (to make the file smaller), I had two problems. First, the number of strands went back to the default (2) used for full cross-stitches. The second problem was although you could see the half-cross stitches on the pattern display, the printing (at least print preview) had no half cross stitches!

What happened? In the original form, the print preview clearly noted the half stitches. The conversion did not. This is not a special stitch. Half crosses are allowed in 7.

I created a very simple case of a series of nested squares and the areas between the squares filled with half crosses of another color. Again, I defined the half stitches as using 1 strand while the full used 2 strands. The problem does duplicate in my simple case. If needed, I can email both 8 and 7 forms of this test.

It is NOT that serious of a problem except the floss usage table is incorrect. I added an instruction note that the color was to be half stitches in single strand.

Diane,

I just tried a quick test, and the 1/2 stitches worked right for me. Can you email me your sample files?

I know about the strand problem. It is on the list of things to get fixed.

Mark,

I have sent both the pro and standard forms of my simple test case your way. I hope it helps to determine what happened.
