My wife had designed a few dozen patterns under PCStitch 5, and, I can open them under PCStitch 7. However, PCStitch Pro does not recognize them as being in a valid format.
The other patterns she has, such as were in pattern libraries, were converted to the PCStitch Pro format when they were opened.
How can we convert my wife's patterns, to the PCStitch Pro format, without being forced to print them out and reenter them manually?

I have no idea why you cannot open them in Pro when you can in Standard (7). However, why not try this. Just open them into 7 and SAVE them. Maybe under a slightly different name. Then try to load the 7 form into Pro.
If there are a lot of them, it may be tedious but a lot better than re-entering them.
If you use the different name, the original is preserved so you can't hurt it. Maybe a good idea is to make a zipped copy of all the version 5 files and then just rename them because the originals are in zipped format and can't be changed.

Greeting again.
I opened the PCStitch 5 patterns under PCStitch Lite (6), and saved them with 'Save As' with a modified name, then the new files opened just fine under PCStitch Pro.

That's basically the same advice I gave. I used version 7 because you said they did open there. You didn't mention Lite. If Pro didn't like your 5s, just give it higher.

I suggest you work you way to the contact us page (click on Home (above) then Customer Service (on left side) and then Contact Us (again on left side) to send an email directly to the company with your problem. They may have a way to do it or they may ask you to email them the patterns where they can be converted and sent back.
I'm not making any promises. It's just that they are normally very helpful so they may be able to help you jump for 4 to 8 easier.
I suspect they used 5 as some sort of cut-off point and anything older is no longer recognized. I hope they can help you.
