I am rather new to this program. I figured out text but when I try to add an exclamation point, I get nothing but blank space! So, I tried to add a period, comma, question mark, all the same response. I tried to see it in the help manual, but didn't see it. Please help! |

It appears that the stitched fonts only have the letters defined, no special characters such as punctuation. That may also be true with the true type fonts as well.
It's possible that the only way to make the punctuation marks is to create a stitched representation. You can make the item an object and copy it here and there if needed in more than one place.
I guess there just isn't much call for that or the special fonts are not conducive to the punctuation with the "theme" of the font.
Diane There is no such thing as a stupid question

Do you remember what text font you were using?
Many of the installed True Type Fonts do have at least an exclamation and question mark. Try your Arial fonts. If you are using Windows, open your Windows Explorer file. Scroll down and open the Fonts folder. You can click on any of the fonts to see how they display. Symbols are always near the top.

If you are using the stitched font option, only wide backstitch, small backstitch, complete backstitch and backstitch alphabet, will show exclamation points, commas, etc. |

Ramoth,
Thank you for adding that information. I am also new. I had only been using True Type fonts. I was so focused on using them that I never saw the button to switch over to the stitched fonts! |
