does any one know how to save a pattern you make to word and print out

Why would you ever want to do that? Word is .doc or .docx format. PCStitch is .pat format. They are not compatible.

You can "print" to create a PDF and then maybe use a 3rd party product to convert the PDF to a Word document but I just don't see that it would improve the pattern in the least.

I agree wholeheartedly, Diane.
Charts print brilliantly directly from PC Stitch. If you try putting them into another program, you can actually lose some of the formatting and detail - not worth it.

how do you send a version to someone for them to print out, with the overlapping pages ?

The only way to do that with the overlapping areas is to print to a PDF.
