I don't know what I did, but suddenly I can't select an area by clicking and dragging. For example, I tried to click in the upper left of this design and drag to the lower right, but the edit box will only appear as being the size of a single stitch, and I can't drag any of the sides to enlarge it.

I'm also unable to draw backstitching.

I've rebooted and uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I know I must have inadvertently typed or clicked something that caused this, but I don't know what it is! Can anyone help me, please?

Make sure you've got the right "tool" selected for either the area marking (arrow tool) or backstitching (horizontal bar tool). Other than that, it should work.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked all of those things and they don't solve the problem, unfortunately. I realized I can't hold down the mouse and drag it along the squares to color more than one at a time, either.

As I said, I know I must have DONE something to make this happen, because I've had PCStitch for a couple of years and have never had this problem. My mouse works as it should in other applications, so I'm stumped. :(

Oh, finally realized it might be something with my fancy mouse with a frillion buttons. I reset everything and it works fine now.

Again, thanks so much for the speedy response, Diane!
