I'm really looking forward to an update that corrects the doubling up of backstitches when copying and pasting in PCStitch. Is there an update imminent that will fix this problem?

I am having problems reproducing this issue. Can you tell me how to make it happen.
I know it has been a while since we posted an update. I will try to get one out within the next couple of weeks.

Mark,
The backstitch issue is EASY to reproduce. Create a box, backstitch it. Copy it over the full width so that the front end of the backstiching overlaps the back end. Now for that entire line, there are two backstitch lines on top of each other. You can't see it but if you move the end of any one of them, you can see there is another underneath it.
It is an annoying and wasteful situation. Wasteful because backstitching seems to be a very space consuming part of the file and extra unneeded stitches doesn't help. It's also wasteful because it caused errors in the floss usage summary because it counts stitches that aren't needed.
To make it more easily seen, you can move the copy of the box where it doesn't touch the first box, change the color of the backstitch and then MOVE it so it overlaps. Then if you move one end of a line, there is even more clearly a second line.

Yes, this is exactly what I've found. In some cases, when I copy and paste repeating patterns to make a border, I have had three superimposed backstitches to contend with. I'd like to see the latest backstitch replace the previous one, rather than just cover it. I'm finding this problem even in free patterns I've downloaded that others have created in PCStitch.

I thought we were talking about an isuue that was related to the copy/paste functionality, but I believe I misunderstood.
I think what you are asking for is that if a back stitch line completely covers another one, it should delete the original, whether the new stitch was created by copy/paste, drawn manually, or dropped in with a library object.
Is that correct?

Yes, that's exactly it. This happens when copying and pasting beads too. I know when making borders with a repeating pattern I'd rather do one repeat and copy-paste the rest around, but it's time-consuming to have to go through and delete the extra beads/backstitch.

Right, Mark. I would like the backstitch lines to replace the one it superimposes, whether it is drawn over or copied over the original.

I agree, also. It drives me nuts when I'm manually putting in a backstitch line and accidently make a short piece under an existing line. If I need to move or remove the original line I often get the "shorty" first that I didn't even know was there.
I didn't know about the beads but they should work the same way. The latest or "top" should replace the older or "bottom" bead.
