Is black a permanent color in the floss palette? I'm trying to replace black with another color. The program will act as if it's doing something, but black remains. I can't even delete it (it asks me is I'm sure I want to delete that many stitches). I can replace and delete other colors, just not black...
Any ideas? |

I do it all the time! I have a default palette of black and white ONLY. If the pattern I start does not use either, I remove them. I can do it at any time. If there are NO stitches in that color, it just removes it with no prompts. If it is in use, it asks me and does it if I say "yes".

| I do that too. I will respond "yes" when it's asks, but the color remains. |

That's weird!
What happens if you save the file, close it and then re-open it? Is black still there?
What operating system are you using? Since it works for me and not you, there may be something different in our environments.

There have been times when I can't delete black from my palette, but other times that I can.
I tried it again today and had no problems whatsoever. Why it works sometimes and doesn't work at others is a mystery to me. It must be my windows environment, but on both my laptop and PC???

If you add a new color to the pattern, will it then let you delete the black?

Mark,
It lets me remove my black and white (default palette colors) when I have a blank "new" design. At that point I have NO colors! It's happy. I do add colors at that point and I have never saved it in that form.
