I'm new to cross-stitch and to the PCStitch software.
I was wondering if anyone can provide some tips on how to include effective backstitching to a project. I am creating a baby-blanket for a friend of mine using the PCStitch software and a bunch of painted faery images such as this one:
Obviously this is a detailed photograph, and I am aware that I will lose a lot of it in the "pixelation" process of creating the cross-stitch chart. I know that backstitching is a great way to recreate some of that detail, and I'm anxious to take advantage of that.
Any tips you can provide would be fantastic!
Thanks, Megan Harrison

Posted - 09/12/2006 : 21:52:17 Hi I am not new to cross stitching but am to this program. I am trying to make a pattern of my 11 month old granddaughter and I am having problems knowing how and where to mark my backstitch. You are right the backstitching makes or breaks the whole effects of the picture. I have zoomed and that has help in one area but the eyes, nose, lips and hairline isn't clear enough on the pattern for me to work with. My pattern isn't clear like the samples show in the tutorial. So I am looking for help also.
