I have downloaded several free DMC patterns and want to transfer them to my PCStitch 9 so I don't have to spend hours trying to 'duplicate' the patterns. Is there a quicker way to copy and paste them to PCStitch 9?

The short answer is No.

Unless the file is already in a .pat (not an older PatternMaker format .pat), it has to be converted manually. Some formats can be converted from one to another using myriaCross but pdfs (which most DMC patterns use) is not among them. PDF is just an image of the pattern and is not "coded" as is needed for cross-stitch software.
