I am having difficulties trying to download the latest update due to the size of it. Can this be divided possibly? Perhaps the windows update as one and the 'problem fixers' as another?
I do have a problem - I am suddenly unable to save anything! I can go back to the old #7 version and save there but it doesn't compare with features. I am hoping there is a 'fix' in the latest update... or do I have a different problem here?
Has anyone else encountered this?

Depending on how much updating you need, the size of the file does vary. If you are already at 8.03 (or greater), the update is about 6 - 7 Mb. If you are below 8.03 and do not already have the Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework, you must download a much larger file.
There is a thread where Mark pointed out that the Customer Service page at the the main site does have the links to download the updates from there rather than through the built-in update feature. It can be faster.
Other than that, the files are not split and I do not know if there are any plans to do so.
I have not tried to save a file on my latest "rendition" of the program having had to re-install it on a new machine, but I have not heard of your problem.
