This is more of a rhetoric question, but nevertheless: is there any way to use several types of backstitching ie. some parts of the pattern will be stitched with one strand, others with two strands (and shown thicker in preview)?

If not, I'd like to make this a feature request as I think it might come useful every now and then, even though it would have most of the use in previews (as one should anyway define where to use what when making a design which goes out to the market).

It's a little convoluted, but I think you can get this accomplished. Add the same color to your palette multiple times, and change the strands and back stitch style on the extra colors to what you want, then only use the additional colors for back stitching. You can't make them a different thickness on the display, but you can use the different styles like dashed, squiggle, etc...
