Posted - 09/28/2006 : 21:02:58 how can I add symbols in my symbols chart, I notice that only some letters are used, and I'd like to add more letters and numbers.
I do notice that there are blank spaces in the symbols chart, and wonder if they could be put in their place.
Any help that you could give me would be appreciated, thanks. |

Remember that this only works with Pro!
When you have the symbol palette open, just below the stitch style is the font. It is a drop-down menu. If you want a symbol from another font, just use the menu, select another font, select a symbol from the font. When you get to the next color, you can either use that same font or use the drop down menu to select the original font or another font. If you want (and don't have too many colors), each color in the design can use a symbol from a different font. You can also change the color of the displayed symbol using the color drop-down menu.
PS - good advice on Chemistry!

Posted - 09/29/2006 : 08:31:08 The symbols are true-type fonts. Any font in your system can be used. The blank spots in the font are just codes that have not yet been assigned.
I don't know how you go about creating a true-type font but that is all you need. Create your own font with the characters you want. With Pro, you can mix-fonts. You can pick and choose symbols from different fonts within a single pattern. If you don't see the character you want, look through the other fonts on your system and see if you can find the one you want and use it.
