I just got the program and I would like to ask for help with the operation. I watched the tutorial film, but I have a question. How can I set it to count a large thread count. For example, I am working on a nearly 1 meter picture in needlepoint, and it was edited by a lady (Dajnos died) in this program, and she managed to bring out 340 colors, and if I followed the procedure, I only got half. How can I set it up. My other question is how can I set it up so that if I want to print, there should be 4 10X10 cubes in width and 6 10X10 cubes in length on a sheet, meaning 1 sheet should contain 24 cubes (the cubes should not be folded
Thank you
Rita

OK, multiple questions. I'll do what I can.

For thread count - do not worry about the SIZE of the project. That is not important. What IS important is the number of stitches! You say it's nearly 1 meter - that's about 39". What count? If it's 14 count (average cross-stitch count), it would be around 546 stitches. That is big! That's only one dimension. You need width and height (or length and width). You can define the number of stitches/inch (count) however you want and the only real differences are the estimate of the floss usage and the sizes of the stitches on the screen.

For colors, I'm not sure what you're asking. You say it was edited in this program so you should be able to just open the file in your copy and continue. I'm not sure there is a limit to the number of colors in a single project. You can even use multiple color palettes at once as well as multiple fonts at once for the symbols. You can blend colors as well but only 2 colors in one stitch. I don't think it's designed for more colors in a single stitch.

If you are trying to import the pattern, I don't understand at all since you said it has been edited in this software. Even importing, you can define a large number of colors but if it has as many colors as you describe, I do not recommend that because it would quickly become impossible due to computer restrictions reading a single jpg file.

I'm not sure what you want for printing. Do you mean "cubes" or "squares". If you mean squares, you want 4 x 10 on a page. To get that without splitting the pattern, you would need to first, turn off ALL "overlap" features (helps to keep your place from page to page). Then you would have to play with the size to get it to limit that way. The easiest way would be to split the pattern into 40 x 60 stitches as sub-patterns and print each pattern as a single page. That would still be a lot of work based on your earlier description.

No matter how you print, there would be NO folding as it is designed to print as 8.5x11 pages (standard page) and there is a page count. There is also a legend to be printed at the end and it can be printed in other places based on the options.

As you are stating that you are new using the program, I suggest a much smaller project as a "trainer" between the now-completed tutorial and the big project.

Good Luck!

Diane
There is no such thing as a stupid question
