When I try to import an image, which I've been doing for years, all I get is a brown square in the preview area. Is there a way to correct this?

I am delighted to say that Jennifer contacted me and it the problem was that somehow I had changed the floss type to Variations. Life is back to normal.

I have tried several images, resizing, numbers of colors, size of stitches, and rebooting. I've sent a message to support as well.

If it's just that image. I would suspect that it's the problem. Look at it in other software and see if you can make any mods or even just save it again to see what happens.

Sadly, I've done all these things too. I've been using imported images for years, so this is really puzzling. I might try uninstalling and reinstalling if I can find my disk.

The first thing I would try is another image - any image - to see if that one comes out normal.

Another thing is to check the size of the image you have. It should be small -- very small! To get the best conversion, you should have it sized as close as possible to 1 pixel = 1 stitch.

Also, check the "maximum colors" setting.

I tried that first thing. This isn't even blurry, just solid brown. :(

Check the zoom factor on the preview. If it's zoomed in too close, everything kind of blurs into nothing!
