Working on my first pattern using imported picture. I’m erasing background and wonder if floss chart will automatically eliminate a color if I erase all stitches of a particular color. Or, do I need to check floss chart against my revised final pattern?

It should remove the color. However, you can use an option in the palette tools to remove unused entries to be sure they are removed. You can get to the palette tools by right-clicking on any color or from the Tools tab.
