Will there be a native export in a future release? In testing I have come close but not totally satisfied with the results. Just curious and thanks in advance!

Posted - 06/27/2021 : 05:11:27 OK, turns out, my problem was there were too many colors in my chart :D Currently Pattern Keeper only recognizes 256 colors max, anything above that, and it treats the chart like it's a scanned chart/photo. The charts I had with less than 256 colors and printed into PDF with Foxit work great now, I only had to add the floss number to 1 symbol. But the creator of PK is working on this problem :D |

I’ve been wondering about this too! According to the Pattern Keeper Trello board PC Stitch files aren’t fully supported yet. I have a pdf of a pcstitch pattern and PK can only detect 5 symbols.
I've also been wondering about this and experimenting, with barely any success. I've tried the recommended tricks with using only true type fonts for the symbols, importing the Winstitch symbols into PCStitch and using those, since with HAEDs it seems to recognize them, used Foxit and Adobe as the pdf printers, barely any luck. I only managed to get one PDF to work, others created with the exact same steps/settings don't seem to work.
I'd really, really love to have a Pattern Keeper-specific pdf-printing setting on PCStitch, it would make things so much easier, since everything I stitch are large full-coverage wips, and while I can stitch color by color by using the highlight-print preview combo in PCStitch, I can't mark my stitches off. And I definitely won't switch to Winstitch, since it doesn't allow the giant size and the full DMC palette use that PCStitch does. (Yeah, I do have wips that are larger than 999x999, and use almost the full 500 colors of the DMC palette, that's exactly why PCStitch is my favorite :DD ) |

Posted - 02/19/2021 : 20:15:12 I have never heard of Pattern Keeper.
To create a PDF of a pattern, simply use a "virtual printer" such as the one that comes with Adobe or Foxit. You just select the PDF creator "printer" and print to it.
Note - issues have been reported for the past 2 versions with the PDF creator that comes with Windows 10 by Microsoft so I do not recommend you use that.
I personally do not recommend PrimoPdf because it has been known to be very nasty in installing bloatware along with the actual software and continue to install such extra software while you try to remove other junk software it has already installed!
Diane There is no such thing as a stupid question
