How do you center text above or below the main design without changing everything?

If a selection box drawn around the text (as tight as possible) does not overlap any other stitches, you can just draw the box and move it around to get what you want.

The other choice is to make the text totally separate from the design to force the situation above and do the same thing.

The best scenario is to mark the text in a selection box and use the tools to make it an object. Then you can move it around as much as you want (including wrong placement) to be sure it's where you want it.
