Can you limit the amount of floss colors the program is able to use in your pattern? If you can, how do you do it? |

In the Import dialog, where you specify the image to be imported, scroll sideways on that list of option areas. There is one that may not show easily - Floss. You can specify what floss palette to use and the maximum number of colors to use.
If you are creating a pattern from scratch (not importing), you just specify what colors you want. If you are using a pre-selected palette that has a lot of colors, make one stitch from each color you wish to use and then you can remove all unused colors. That leaves you with the subset you want.
