I'm trying to work with a new mark up program, Cross stitch Saga, and it doesn't support version 11.
Is there a way to save to an older version? |

That "mark" is what I referred to in my post about using the library. It's a copyright issue and somehow the software knows when you put something in but not when it's been removed. I can understand that in some sense. If you merge to the background, there's no way to tell that you have used a library motif or font.
I tried to find out the maximum number of stitches for width/length and it appears to be 999 so your length of 8 blocks of 130 or 1040 is too big. That throws out the idea of putting them all into a single pattern.
If you're trying to keep track of your stitches and such (know that the calculations for floss usage is based on the actual parameters and not what you might be using and is not very accurate) there is a way you might be able to do it: You can export the floss usage as a .csv file and put that into Excel (or another spreadsheet package that accepts that file format) and use functions from there to handle the issue. It's not as neat or clean but it is possible.

I was using a built in font. It wasn't an issue til I tried to be fancy about keeping track of my stitches.
Each block is 130X130
The entire thing is 6 blocks wide and 8 blocks long. So putting it together would be crazy.
I'm familiar with Merging to the background and always do that.
So it seems I'm getting stuck on the fact that the background "mark" that I had the text in the pattern is sticking around even though I've removed it and copied to an new canvas.
Is there a fix for that? I will not redo each pattern just for this. I was just hoping to move forward in how I keep track of stitches.

Are you using ANY library motifs, including any of the built-in fonts? There seems to be a problems saving such patterns to other copies even if the motifs are removed as the pointer that they were used is not removed. You might be able to do such piecemeal.
Just how big -- stitch size, is this pattern? Is it possible to make it one VERY VERY BIG pattern? That might resolve the issue.
The only thing I can think of is to check if you have any motifs/objects in any part. If so, MERGE that part to the background and see if you can export after that.

Ok,I got a bit of it worked out.
1) It won't let me import anything that had font on it, which I knew... but even after I've removed the offending text, resaved onto a clean canvas.
2) The patterns for this project were originally saved in a "Library" so I could manipulate they full project lay out. The finish project is multiple squares that go together to make a movie poster size finished item.
I can resave the ones without text as "patterns" instead of library items and I can export.
So... now I'm stuck at what to do about the ones that I take the text off. |

Next issue!
I found "export" but it's telling me that I can't export it because I can't export things that are bundled with PCStitch.
It's my own pattern, created from an imported image and adjusted over many, many weeks.
Got a thought? |

I contacted the software support this morning. They were great at responding.
I've used PCStitch 11 since it came out, so I was very surprised that they don't support it. |

You can, if you don't use a lot of the newer features save to version 7. Use the Import/Export tool to export to version 7.
Version 11 has been out for a couple of years so your software must be pretty old or not readily updated, even if it is new to you.
