I’m using yarn instead of floss. Is there a way to figure out yarn usage?

You have to do that manually. You can use the floss usage chart for the number of stitches but you have to estimate how much yarn you need per stitch and multiply that. Remember to add extra for starting, ending, and moving from place to place when not starting or ending.

Also remember that the number listed is just that - an estimate. I did one project that had an estimate from two different sources for how much floss was used. Neither was that accurate but the 2nd source was more accurate than what I got from PCStitch (a much earlier version). I don't know if that calculation has been updated over the years.
