Bitchin n Stitchin |
Posted - 12/26/2019 : 04:39:03 Morning all, I'm relatively new to this software but I've had a good look through the manual and haven't been able to solve my problem!
So I'm planning out a rather large piece with text on. My issue is when I select things, mainly the text, it jumps out of place (and I'm definitely not moving while I click which would account for that). Is there a way to lock an item to the grid so that when you select it to change colour or whatever it can't be accidentally moved?
As a side note, are layers available in this program? It'd be handy to be able to move whole layers instead of individual pieces.
Thanks in advance :) |

Posted - 12/26/2019 : 07:36:39 I'm not sure about true layers - that may be possible.
I've not seen anything move around without explicitly clicking on an area to move.
You may be combining the two issues and one causes problems with the other.
You can combine areas of stitching as an OBJECT and them move that object around where you want it and it should stay put. Maybe you can have two objects and have them partially overlapping (not full or you could not select one or the other) so you can have your layers.
It's possible that your text is an object and you are unintentionally moving it. If you blend to background, it is no longer an object and you would have to select an area manually to be able to do anything to more than one stitch at a time.
One warning about objects -- If I remember right (I haven't used them for years), once you have an object created, you cannot change it. You might be able to change colors but changing the stitching is frozen in an object. You have to blend it into the background (un-make the object) to adjust stitching and then re-make the object.
