Two questions: How do you put in the activation code?

PC Stitch generated two colors with the same symbol. I know how to change symbols, but I don't know how to show on the pattern all of the stitches for a single symbol/color of floss.

Can you help me with both of these? Thank you, Hallie

Hallie,

It's been a long time since I've had to register PCStitch. I've been using it since 2004 (version 7) with some downloaded and some with CDs. According to the help and the PDF manual that is included, the Home Ribbon (click on "Home") has an option called "Register & Unlock". It's probably to the right. You must be connected to the internet to unlock the product. If you have purchased the CD version, there is no unlock, it's part of the software installation.

The floss palette is the display of colors (and symbols) that are, by default, at the bottom of the window. When you add a color, that is where it (and a default symbol) appears. If you click on a color to make it active, you can then click on the Symbol panel and change the symbol you wish to use. If you right click on a color in that band, you will see a menu that includes the highlighting option (on or off).

That should help.

Good Luck,

Diane

Diane,

Thank you for the quick reply. My home tab ribbon does not show a place to enter an unlock code. I can email a capture if that would help.

With respect to showing a single color, I'm afraid I need more complete instructions. How should I access the floss pallet? Sorry to be difficult. Thank you in advance, Hallie

There is an unlock option in the home tab of the ribbon for PCStitch 11. That should help you completing the registration.

There are about 3 known cases of the same symbol being used in multiple places. You can change that at any time. Click on the color in the floss palette and then open the symbol palette and select what symbol you wish that color to use. That will avoid the confusion of the duplicate symbols.

To show all stitches of a single color - turn on "Highlight Entry" in the floss palette. Right click on the color and select it from the menu. As long as it is on, you can then just click on other colors to highlight those stitches (including special stitches). When finished, right clock on any color and select "Stop Highlighting".
