Posted - 10/14/2017 : 12:17:56 I’d like to print a pattern where the backstitch is the same color as many of the field stitches. What is are the recommended settings to have the outline print where the line is distinguished from the stitches?
I’ve seen professionally printed patterns where the backstitch s a color not otherwise used in the colorful pattern and other cases where the stitches are black & white symbols and the outlines in color. Thoughts? |

Posted - 10/14/2017 : 15:32:31 There are several options for the printing of patterns with backstitches. It is very common for the backstitch color to be also used as normal stitches.
For printing, you can have the main pattern to be just black/white for the stitches and have the backstitches in the floss color. you can also have the backstitches done with a certain pattern (about 6 are pre-defined). The latter is not as popular with stitchers because it is sometimes difficult to see the symbol for a stitch because the pattern of the backstitch overlays it.
There is not, at this time, an option to print a separate copy of the pattern with the stitches symbols faint and the backstitching more bold. The closest you can get is to print just the backstitching! You do that by specifying "none" for the stitches and chose something for the backstitching. Since it would be the same layout as the stitches, you could see the relative positions but with no stitches, would be difficult.
If you want the backstitching to be more pronounced in the actual project, you could specify more strands for it.
I hope this answers your question.
