Hi, I am doing a cross stitch of a house in France but when the pattern has been printed out there are quite a few squares that are blank with no symbol to it, what does that mean? they mainly come in the sky, the main house wall which is white and a low wall in front of the house which is also white, can you help me solve my problem?

Thank you, you have been a great help, as the house is white and the wall is white I was going to use a white floss, you have confirmed it for me so thank you

There are about 5 codes within the PCStitch 3 symbol set where no symbol has been defined. There are also a few duplicated symbols in the symbol set (all have been reported for years). I suggest you hover over one of the blank stitches. Does it show a floss code in the lower left corner?

I was playing with this myself and did see that effect -- white didn't show. However, it seems to be dependent upon what floss you have defined to use. I did not see it with DMC Stranded Cotton. It's possible that you have chosen a floss that is more limited in colors and it just couldn't find a color to match what it though was there!

There are several options for you:

* Use "blank" as white within the pattern
* Change the floss you have selected and see if it doesn't give you something better.
* Manually change those blanks to white of whatever company's floss best fits.

Sorry I may have confused matters, when transferring picture to pattern the white within the picture is not designated a colour thread hence no symbol or does no symbol itself represent a colour thread

Check the pattern itself - both the display and the preview? Do those stitches show there?

If not, it's printing the same as displaying.

You might try changing the symbols for those colors to see if that helps.

Good Luck,

Diane
