Hi!! I am new here. I am hoping to create a new border pattern. Is this possible, and are there instructions anywhere on how to do this, and save it for future use? Also, can you use cut and paste when creating a new pattern? Thanks!!

Select the cursor type of the arrow. Then click a point slightly beyond the area you wish to mark and drag to mark the area (black lines will show the area). When you release the mouse, the area is marked. It's similar to marking an area with graphics software (including Irfanview).

Exactly how do you 'mark' an area? I am used to just clicking and dragging around the shape i want to copy. i tried 'select', but that just moved the entire screen. I just unlocked this PCStitch 11 today.

First, creating a new border is just another form of stitching. Yes, you can save it. There are many custom borders available. I suggest you use the help and search on borders for more information.

Cut/paste -- definitely! Even from one .pat file to another! Just mark the area and specify copy and paste it. I believe the paste defaults to the upper left corner. Just click and drag the area to where you want it.
