I am trying to make a stitched font for a rune alphabet. It has characters that stand for vowel and consonant blends. Is there a way to have a letter label with more than one character? Or will I need to make a substitution cypher using lower case letters or numbers to fill in the extra runes?

Since part of the purpose of that special characters is to include punctuation, I would not expect a character to be a delimiter. I would say it would be either space or nothing -- just run all the characters together.

There is one way to find out -- try it! The worse thing that will happen is you won't get what you want. In that case, cancel out and start over with another idea.

Does anyone know how the special characters box works? Is it comma-delineated, semi colon, etc? Or is each thing you type treated as a separate entry in the font?

I have no idea. I would try it the way that makes sense and if it doesn't work, choose what is needed.
