I've just reinstalled PC10 and am trying to print out a pattern I had reworked on it. When I print, all I am getting is the back stitch lines, even though they show on screen in printer/preview. The symbols for the stitches do not show up, even on the info sheet that shows the colours and the DMC numbers. I've check my printer driver and it's up to date. It's a Canon MG5660, and it prints anything else I want without a problem. Can anyone suggest what I do next.

You might contact Mark and he might have some answers. But since the pattern appears properly in print preview. It's probably something to do with the interface of your printer and the software - which there is little that can be done.

It sounds like using my little trick of print to pdf is the best case.

HOWEVER -- there is a known issue of printing to PDF using Microsoft's built-in feature with Windows 10 that does not work! You might need something like Foxit or Adobe to actually get it to work.

I know PC Stitch 10 is outdated, but since my patterns were all produced using it, and since I wasn't intending to continue making cross stitch patterns and PC Stitch doesn't make crewel work patterns, I saw little point in updating. I am using Windows 10, and have been for at least the last year. I'll see if I can print as a PDF file. Failing that I will have to abandon the patterns I have. Pity

First - what operating system are you using?

Second, PCStitch 10 is outdated.

Third, I suggest you try to print to PDF (using something like Foxit) and check that. If the symbols show there, then print THAT.

Note -- that's how I HAVE to print just about anything. HP's print drivers only seem to work with Foxit and Internet Explorer with my Windows 7 machine.
