If you have a PDF viewer installed, such as Foxit (and I believe Adobe will do it as well), you can "print" to create a PDF of the Pat file. Save it as PAT and then "Print" with the virtual printer (pdf creation) selected as the printer. Voila! You have a PDF of the pattern complete with key, overlap and all other features of a printed pattern.

You can only save the pattern as a PAT file,
but you can go to File-Export-to image file and then save.

PCStitch is designed to be saved as a PAT file. The software can be "printed" to create a PDF file easily. Doing it with a JPG is not recommended other than a simulated image of the final pattern.

Could you explain more in detail? How big is the file? Where are you trying to save it? Are you doing the entire pattern or just part?

Please give the steps you are trying so I can try to duplicate the issue with another, similar sized pattern.

Also, what operating system are you using?
