How do I change large sections of color in the picture in sections or do I need do that box by box

You can change ALL of one color stitch to another color stitch or just within a defined area using the palette bar. Just define the color you want and drag one color over the other and say replace. I don't remember which way it works.

If you want to do it in a defined area, use the mouse (and the arrow cursor tool) and draw a rectangle. Then when you do the replace, it will ask you if its the whole pattern or just the defined area.

You can do this for as many colors as you wish.

So, no, you don't have to do it stitch by stitch.
