I just purchased PC10 and am having trouble being able to use text. I found the text option under the drop down in tools I believe but it doesn't allow me to select it. The text option as well as other options appear gray not black and therefore don't allow selection. What am I doing wrong????

You have to have a pattern started before many of the options show. Are you actively creating a pattern?

But I cannot choose text, the program or system doesn't allow me to do that. |

Cindy,
I moved your thread the the appropriate forum.
When you select Text, it should open up a panel on the right side from which you select the font you want to use.
You can click for True Type or Stitched for the types of fonts you want to see. If True-Type, you can also select the size of text.
Then you should be able to just move the cursor to where you want the text and start typing.
One thing to check if you are still having some trouble - Click "Help" and search for Text!
