All of a sudden when I print a symbol charts, the symbols are not those I've chosen. I've tried choosing the symbols again and still what is printing is nothing like those I've selected for the piece.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kathy

It took a complete uninstall and reinstall, but it worked. It is back to printing the correct symbols.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Kathy,

First - on the question of what symbol font is used, try changing that. Most likely, it's one of the other two PCStitch fonts. Try setting it to one of the others and see if the symbols match those that you see. It's easy to change back. In fact -- that may reset it's pointers!

Second - just go to the site and download the latest version. Then do a simple uninstall and then re-install of the product. Don't use something like Revo-Uninstaller that looks for extra registration keys because you are going to put it back in and you don't want to clear your unlock code. A re-install should not affect your licensing. Then just run the installer you downloaded to put it back.

I recommend you zip and keep the file you downloaded. I always have them as a backup if I have to upgrade to a new computer or have a problem in the future. This saves download time (and bandwidth).

Like you, I beta tested it and I have never seen this problem before.

Good Luck!

Did this and same thing happens SOME of the symbols are correct the ones I've chosen but the others are completely different. I've chosen a numeral 7 and the percent sign appears. Right next to it I have chosen a C and the C appears, but for every one that is right another is something out of left field.

If that still looks screwy, try to decide what font it is actually using and go to the Windows Font folder and try to move or rename that file so PCStitch can't find it. You will have to close down PCStitch to do that. That may force PCStitch to load your font.

There is no way to tell which font it is using, it says PCStitch 3 as it has in the past.

I do not have a disc for the program, how do I download and install it again? I had it originally as a beta tester.

Kathy,

I have no idea why it is doing it. The one thing I suggest now is to make sure you SEE the right symbols on your pattern -- not print on the design page itself. SAVE the file exactly as you see it. Close PCStitch. Double-click on that file to re-open PCStitch with the file loaded. Try a print preview.

If that still looks screwy, try to decide what font it is actually using and go to the Windows Font folder and try to move or rename that file so PCStitch can't find it. You will have to close down PCStitch to do that. That may force PCStitch to load your font.

If that still doesn't work, there are only three more things you can try.

First -- uninstall/reinstall PCStitch. It will not affect your existing pattern.
Second -- try to look at the pattern under another installation (a friend or family member maybe) of PCStitch. If that works, then it's definitely not the pattern.
Third -- if all else fails -- contact Mark. Give him as many details as you can on the issue. He may have a fix.

I see the same screwy symbols that print out. This is serious I need to get some designs to a publisher and no matter what I try there is nothing but wrong symbols.

What do you see with a Print Preview?

It is set to PCStitch 3 and I see no change in the settings I've always used but still printing completely different symbols when I print to pdf.

All I can think is that you're picking up the wrong symbol font set. Check the printing and be sure it's the same font set -- such as PCStitch 3.
